Quest4Energy
Energy Efficiency Information, Education and Training
Programmes
Targeted Learners age 10 – 15: Intermediate Phase.
A Program designed to engage learners in creating energy-saving
activities in their schools, using hands-on
and real-world projects.
Through basic changes in the operations, maintenance, and individual
behaviour,
Schools could achieve reductions in energy use. Schools
can dramatically reduce energy costs by simple
changes in energy
user behaviour and building operations—such as taking advantage
of daylight where
available, adjusting thermostats, and minimizing
equipment
run times can result in energy savings.
Energy management could be obtained by operating jointly on the
improvement of the building energy
performance, on user behaviour
and on the development of didactic projects.
Q4E Roadshow
An awareness programme on ‘Energy Efficiency Information’ by
means of a performance piece in a Concert
style
show. In line with
the Dept of Education’s OBE system, we are using methods of
enhancing the learner’s
understanding of, and approach to, ‘Energy
Efficiency Information’ by embracing BOAL and TIE principles
and
techniques with five senior Actor/Facilitators. This highly
successful approach was described as a refreshing
means of engaging
learners
in a more integral way. The success of our programmes lies in
actively engaging
the learners, provoking them into lively debate
and discussion
and participation in the project. We guarantee
a programme that
is presented in a relaxed, entertaining yet highly professional manner.
